I'm taking the network+ in January, i gave myself 14 weeks to pass and its going well and i find the whole networking part of IT very interesting,, next in the plan is to get the experience, Ireland has an internship type thing going on and small startup IT company's are always looking for interns..my question is, CCNA, is this the next viable step to take ? or should i go get the 12mths experience and then go for the cisco exams...thanks for any advice...

I should point out i'm 47 and all my working life was in building construction and manufacturing...

I would suggest getting a job or internship and getting some practical experience while studying for the exams. Network+ should be attainable if you have a grasp of networking cisco stuff can be difficult without experience or a home lab.

it depends on your experience. A windows client cert would be useful next such as 70-680 or 70-270 but as said get a intern job or entry level job too.

just had peek at those windows exams, the first one (70-680), i covered a lot of that in the a+ exam, not in as much depth i will confess but a lot of what's needed wasn't alien to me...which is a good thing
