When I install the nvidia driver for my graphics card, after reboot windows 7 freezes after i type my password in. It may do it on 'welcome' or it usually does it when i get to desktop. When i uninstall the driver it goes back to not freezing.

Any Ideas !!!!???

What are your system specs?

Are you able to boot into safe mode?

Yes I am able to boot into safe mode, I think I am running a ROHS power supply.

These are my system specs: AMD Phenom II X4 B50, 3.10 GHZ, 8GB RAM (DDR3), NVIDIA GT 240,

That's weird that you'd use an industry power supply for a standard desktop pc. You may wanna consider an alternative.

Anywho's, reinstall the driver. Before you restart, you wanna setup Device Verifier as instructed here. The option you wanna focus on is Deadlock Detection. Select all non-MS drivers, then save and restart. If you get a bsod instead of a freeze (wait a few minutes to see if the bsod kicks in during the freeze), then send us the crash dump as described here.

I can say though with initial understanding that it's either your video card that's bad, or you got that ugly PSU of yours causing issues as soon as your video drivers try to put your videocard to work. Can you provide anything regarding wattage for the PSU, as well as further details on when you purchased the card and the drivers themselves? Are these updated drivers you're attempting to use, or are you just installing drivers for your new card for the first time?
