Hi everyone, I have started getting a BSOD on my trusty Windows 7 box. This is happening once or twice a day at the moment, generally overnight when no-one is using it and I am at a loss as to what could be causing it.

I have followed the instructions in the following post and have attached the files requested.

https://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...ta-452654.html

Please find below information about my PC:

Quote:
OS - Windows 7 SP1
x64
What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7
Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? Retail
Age of system (hardware) - ~2 years
Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? ~2 years

CPU - Intel Q6600
Video Card - EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 800GT
MotherBoard - Gigabyte EP35-DS4
Power Supply - brand & wattage - Don't know sorry.

System Manufacturer - Built myself
Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom) - N/A
I appreciate any assistance you guys can provide. This PC has served me well for a couple of years now with no sign of trouble until this.

Kind regards,
Jordan

Turned on driver verifier and got blue screens almost immediately. Have attached a copy of the minidump from this one.

Hi,

The majority of the recent BSODs are networking related.

Usually I would expect to see either an out of date networking driver, or the presence of software that is known to conflict with networking systems.

In this case however, the networking driver is very much up to date:
Code:

Rt64win7.sys Fri Jan 21 20:34:00 2011 (4D3936E8)
So, we are looking at software present that could be causing issues. The Citrix client, Avast and uTorrent all could possibly be the cause. Remove all three (or just disable them from running) and see if the BSODs continue. If they do, then boot into Safe Mode with Networking and check if you still get BSODs there.

Thanks reventon. I have updated all drivers and there was a Realtek update. I have also removed Avast and installed Microsoft Security Essentials and everything seems to be stable now.

I've got Driver Verifier running and haven't had a crash in almost 24 hours now so fingers crossed this has fixed the problem.

Interestingly enough I have been having network connection problems before this but didn't list it as a symptom in case it confused the diagnosis. This also seems to be fixed now. :D

If your connection issues are now fixed too this is probably solved. Thanks for letting us know.
