Hi Guys.

I've been experiencing BSOD's not so often, but my gut feeling tells me they might be connected with USB devices I use. Answering your questions:
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate
x64
The one I'm using
Full retail version
Approximate age of system - Sept. 2013
Approximate age of OS installation - Sept. 2013
Have you re-installed the OS? No
Intel i7 3770K
Palit GeForce GTX 970
AsRock Z77M
AeroCool VX-650 - 650 Watt
Desktop

Two months ago I've changed power supply (100W more) and I purchased USB 3.0 PCI-E controller

I have several USB devices:
- mouse - MSonic MX73R wireless
- Behringer USB Audio interface - I use it to record guitar and have used in the past as audio card - details below
- TP Link TL-WN721N - wireless internet interface
- Turbo Leopard USB 3.0 HDD Docking Station
- USB cable from A4 Tech Evolution keyboard (keyboard itself is PS/2 but has one USB 2.0 on left side)
- USB cable for charging mobile phones

Mouse, TP Link and both USB cables are plugged into 2.0 ports, Behringer into 3.0 port and docking station via USB 3.0 PCI-E extension card

It all began with Behringer problems - month ago I've changed both power supply and case. 4-5 months before change, mentioned problems started - when I was using Behringer as an audio card, it happened on regular basis, that sound played had 1-2 seconds delay - Un- and re-plugging device helped partially - sometimes till computer shutdown, sometimes not. Re-plugging from USB 3.0 to 2.0 port was causing sound corruption and some mess sounds played from speakers. So my initial idea was that either power supply was not enough or maybe motherboard was going down. I decided to change case and power supply (old case was bit too small for big graphic card and huge CPU cooling system). So I switched Behringer back just to be recording tool - it happened during playing the guitar, that sound was out for 1-2 seconds. I took it to a friend of mine and check on his computer - device was working smoothly, no negative signs spotted.

Last week I had BSOD twice - PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA (0x00000050)- I ran BlueScreenView utility - marked red were two things - athurx.sys and ntoskrnl.exe. I started googling problem and finally I arrived here.
As you advise, I ran driver verifier - it end up with BSOD - this time it was HIDCLASS.SYS and ntoskrnl.exe marked red.

I checked this athurx.sys - it is TPLink Driver - do you think this might be root of all evil? Even messing around with Behringer device?

I am attaching Sysnative file, perfmon report and 4 last BSOD's minidumps

Hi. . .

You had a slew of BSODs back on November 14 + 15, 2015, that seems to point to a possible HDD issue ("Registry failure" was listed) or perhaps RAM. Did you ever replace hardware back then? The BSODs during this time were limited to those 2 days.

The 4 recent BSODs...

2 named your Atheros wifi driver (listed in your system as a TP-LINK Wireless USB Adapter -- but Atheros wrote the driver) -
Code:
athurx.sys Wed Apr 20 06:07:45 2011 (4DAEB071)
It needs to be updated - https://www.sysnative.com/drivers/dr...?id=athurx.sys

There is your connection to USB.

For info, ntoskrnl.exe is the Windows kernel and is not the actual cause of any BSOD -- it's merely listed as a default. You also mentioned hidclass.sys - it is a Microsoft driver and again, is not the actual cause.

https://www.sysnative.com/drivers/dr...d=HIDCLASS.SYS

The other 2 recent dumps did concern me a bit because they were VERIFIER_ENABLED, yet no 3rd party driver was listed, which is usually a sign of unknown hardware failure.

See if updating the driver stops the BSOD epidemic.

Regards. . .

Hello again,

This bunch of BSOD's in November was caused by SlimDrivers software - it started to update - I don't remeber exactly - some chipset drivers (or another vital hardware drivers) and after reboot computer refused to start - it came into self-repeating loop of starting, loading drivers to some point and re-starting - I didn't even see BSOD's. I solved that by selecting "last known working configuration".
Since that time I've changed HDD (not the system one)
As for RAM - I ran memtest86+ overnight - 6 repeats, no errors reported.

And yesterday I was still looking for the solution. I checked, that TP Link is running on Atheros chipset AR7010 and AR9271, so I went to Qualcomm/Atheros website, I downloaded latest drivers for mentioned chipsets and updated. Now in Device Manager I have Atheros 9271 instead of TP Link, but device is working just fine. Finally, I did driver verifier and no BSOD this time.

I need to perform today tests with Behringer USB device to see, if above mentioned driver update solved this problem as well.

Glad that you got the Atheros driver updated.

It's a wait and see situation now -- waiting to see if the BSOD epidemic is over or not.

Thank you for the info on the 2015 BSODs -- I was just curious.

Regards. . .
