Cry

This issue has been aggravating me for a while and I really want it to be taken care of. Since I bought this computer, mostly all my games have been crashing on me, and I'd say about 90% of the games I play just randomly crash or gives me the blue screen of death, most often the blue screen of death.

Here are my specifications as I'm sure that someone will be asking for it:

4 Gb of OCZ RAM
i5 750 2.7GHz
XFX Radeon HD 5870
MSI P55-GD65 mobo
1 Tb of HDD memory...

Running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit, using Corsair H50 liquid cooling as my main source of cooling and a Silverstone Strider 1000W PSU. GPU is always updated to its latest, BIOS has never been updated (still at 1.1 or something, I've seen the site and there's an option about updating it to 1.7 but I've heard bad things about updating BIOS), and my CPU is usually 29 C, sometimes spiking to something like 38 C for a few seconds when I'm gaming. I know a virus isn't causing this because I've wiped my hard drive a few times already.

If you guys need anymore information, please ask...

Thanks...

Are all your chipset and device drivers up to date?

Is your RAM 1, 2 or 4 sticks? Are they matched? Have you tried reseating them or running just 2gb?

Is your Windows 7 32 or 64 bit?

Post back with the full BSOD message, including the stop code and file name.

I wouldn't think so, not at this moment. I only update my GPU or automatic Windows 7 updates.

I have 2 sticks, they are the same, and I never tried only running one stick.

I said 32 above.

I can't remember the exact time I had my last blue screen but the next time I do, I'll take a look at event viewer since my PC automatically restarts giving me no time to take a picture with my camera.

My System

Go to your motherboard manufacturer's website for the latest chipset drivers, and update the rest of your device drivers to the latest versions.

Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced tab, click the Startup & Recovery Settings button and remove the checkmark from the 'Automatically restart' box to prevent the computer restarting next time you get a BSOD.

32-bit Windows doesn't recognise the full 4gb RAM which can sometimes lead to problems, so try running with just 2gb. This is just a test, not a long-term solution. If the BSOD message indicates a memory problem, run memtest on each stick individually to check for errors.

Thanks a lot, will do. Next time I get my BSOD, which should be in, of course, less than a day, I'll post all the information right here.

Now, you've said that 32-bit doesn't support 4GB of RAM too well? I've decided to borrow my friend's Windows 7 64-bit and try running my games on there since I'd like to keep my 4GB and if it all works out, I'll be buying my own 64-bit product key.

I'm sure that RAM is the problem, either faulty RAM or more likely, my 32-bit version doesn't support all the RAM that I bought for my system. I'm also sure because I looked at the Event Viewer after Prince of Persia crashed on me and say something about Error 0xc0000005 which indicates something to do with RAM (probably the message on the blue screen I get too).

It's not just Prince of Persia, and I've tried it on my previous wipe. I've already did memtest before and my RAM sticks are in good shape.

It's not only about blue screen happening, it's about my games crashing and causing blue screens. I am thankful for you trying to help me, but I've already acquired all the help I could get from koala and I've made my decision on how I will solve my problem.
