Hi Stedman, and welcome back to TSF.

As one of our fellow Moderators @ TSF has all ready explained to you, the forums here are very busy, and all the HJT Security Analysts are volunteers.

I'll be assisitng you from here to get your new computer cleaned up.

It's clear from your latest HJT that you have been doing some self fixing. Let's change that back so that we can have a full look at the systems infection.

HiJackThis fixes can be undone by going to Config> Backups.
Select/tick every entry there & click on the 'Restore' button.
When you've done this, post a fresh HJT log here.

To ensure we're seeing everything on your system, please go to Start > Run type msconfig press Enter and enable all startups by selecting Normal Startup - Load all Device Drivers and Services, reboot and run another scan with HijackThis and post the new log so we can get started.

i haven't used HJT to fix anything so there are no backups available. Anything that has gone away from my scan is from uninstalling programs or doing adware/virus scans both online and with Ad-Aware

Here is a fresh logfile:

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.

Updating Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 8 - https://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.

Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner

Answer Yes, when prompted to install an ActiveX component.
  • The program will then begin downloading the latest definition files.
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Locate the Scan Settings button & configure to:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended
    • Scan Options:
      • Scan Archives
      • Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK & have it scan My Computer
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
