I have a Lenovo Ideapad 330 laptop running Windows 10, and an older headphone set. The laptop has a TRRS combo jack, while the headphone has a TRS input plug, so I need an adapter. I bought a MillSO audio cable on Amazon that has a TRRS plug and magenta and cyan jacks.

I plugged the TRRS plug into the combo jack and plugged the headphone plug into the cyan jack. The computer still says I have only speakers and won't play into the headphone.

Is there something I should do in the software, or is the MillSO cable either defective or the wrong adapter? The MillSO plug has the mic on the sleeve.

FYI I have NoMachine installed on it for remote access, so Windows says I have two speaker sets:
Speakers (NoMachine Microphone Adapter)
Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
The Realtek speakers are selected by default.

Solved! I just had to push harder to get the plugs all the way into the jacks.

That's the trouble with getting old.
