I'm not really sure which sub-board this goes on, so I just went for other.
I ran the Hardware Diagnostics tool (5.1.4976.17) that came with my HP (about 1-2 years ago) and received this result:
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
Current Speed: 100.00 Mbps
Driver: c:\windows\system32\drivers\rtlh64.sys
Driver Version: 6.227.902.2009, 9-2-2009
PCI Express Status Test
Test Started 7/28/2010 5:42:01 PM
Error Message: Fatal device error detected. 7/28/2010 5:42:06 PM
Test Finished: Failed (Error code: MB152-15W) 7/28/2010 5:42:11 PM
The PCI Express tests for the "High Definition Audio Controller", "Intel(R) ICH9 Family PCI Express Root Port 1 - 2940" and the "Intel(R) ICH9 Family PCI Express Root Port 3 - 2944" passed, as did the PCI Bus.
What does this mean (in as close to English as possible, please) and do I need to have it looked at/fixed/exorcised ASAP. To the best of my knowledge, I'm not using the PCI express slot--I just bought a system with one on the chance I might want to upgrade my video card; right now I'm running on the built in video.
