Hello,
I just purchased a brand new Zotac GTX 680 2gb to replace my HD 6950 2gb.
After I changed to GTX 680, Battlefield 4 started bluescreening after around 7 minutes of gameplay.I got it to bluescreen with 3Dmark Vantage for one time AFTER the test was already over but for example Furmark runs for 15 minutes with 99% load and no problems, so does the newest 3Dmark Demo. Previously with HD 6950 2gb EVERYTHING worked fine.

Things I have tried:
-Two different Nvidia drivers 331.82 and 331.93 beta.
-Updating DirectX
-Updating .NET framework


I can get the temperature up to 83 celcius with Furmark and it was around 70-81 when I was playing Battlefield 4.

PC specs:
i7 940 stock ghz with Scythe Mugen 2 cooler
Asus Rampage II Extreme
Zotac GTX 680 2gb (reference cooler, stock ghz)
Corsair VX550 (550W)
8gb of Kingston DDR3 (1600mhz)
Windows 7 64bit

Should I do more testing, maybe try to get it to bluescreen with other games too or should I just RMA right away?

My System


PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA << typically indicates RAM I believe.

The files noted are different, which makes the fault hard to narrow down to specific hardware aside from RAM.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL << tyipcally indicates a driver issue. The file noted ( yk62x64.sys ) appears to be NIC related.


So you appear to be getting random errors, which would lead me to think it's a larger issue and not a specific device. RAM, motherboard, or power supply would be most likely.

Did you uninstall the AMD drivers before installing the Nvidia GPU?
How old is that Corsair PSU?
The GTX680 requires 550W minimum (50W more than the 6950).
Try using the 6950 and see if the problem is still there.
Zotac products are, in general, lower quality.

Lets see if the BSOD dump file(s) can tell us whats going on.

Also lets see what the temps and voltages look like.
D/L and run Hardware Monitor do something intense like a virus scan or gaming for a bit, Alt+Tab back to HWM expand all the trees and use the Win7 snipping tool to grab a screen shot of the HWM window, post the screen shot using the paperclip button in the advanced message box(Go Advanced button).

I uninstalled all AMD products and drivers before I changed the card.
The Corsair PSU is around 3 years old if I recall correctly.
I can try the 6950 again later, even though it worked yesterday. I will report back when I do.

I have attached the things you asked to this reply.
Also my OS is retail. I bought my CPU and motherboard second hand so I dont know how old they are. GTX 680 is brand new. RAM is like max 1 year old. And actually I just remembered that I had some problems with RAM earlier. Motherboard wouldnt boot when RAM was installed on channel 2.. So I currently have to use channel 1 and 3 if I recall correctly (X58 supports triple channel).

Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility (a known BSOD maker in Win7 and Win8). Also a part of many Asus utilities The 2005 version is a old XP driver it should not be on a win7 system.

You'll find the 2009 version here in the down load section under utilities > https://www.service.asus.com/#!downloads/c1wax

There is also a very old Samsung printer driver loaded in the stack if you no longer use the Samsung printer remove the driver.

Absolutely no problems were experienced before replacing the 6950 with the GTX680?

Wow... I updated the Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility and it seems to have fixed the problem. Its getting really late but I tested Battlefield 4 for like 45 minutes or more and no bluescreen, no crash, nothing. Game runs smooth.

Id say we can declare this as solved for now. I will do more tests after Christmas but it seemed really good.

The older ATK0110 driver seems to have poorer interaction with Nvidia drivers more so than ATI drivers.............................
