So I have upgraded my sound card and speakers. I used to have a sound blaster Z with Logitech Z 5450 5.1 surround. I Used an optical cable connected via SPDIF. I had both DTS and DOLBY digital displayed on my receiver. Which is exactly what I want. Now, I have upgraded my sound syetem to 7.1 surround sound and using Yamaha RX-v579 and I upgraded my sound card to ASUS xonar DX. I am using SPDIF connection in window 10. I have enabled Dolby live feature on PC drivers. There is sound but no "Dolby Digital" signal displayed. Sound does pass through all speakers but I want DTS and DOLBY DIGITAL on my receiver.

If you are using optical, why keep buying sound cards? The optical connection from the onboard chipset (assuming you have a higher end board with an optical port) can pass the same signal.

All three of those (onboard, Sound Blaster Z, and Xonar DX) will pass the same untouched signal over optical.

Having said that, assuming you are playing from a true source, it should be simply passing the signal the same as it was before. If you are getting 5.1 audio output from the Receiver, then it appears to be working properly.

Speaking of which, I don't believe you can output 7.1 audio over optical. Configure Windows for 5.1 audio and then test again.
