Yesterday I purchased a new laptop, a Dell Inspiron I7779-1684gry from Best Buy.

I brought it home and once it was loaded I began having issues with the sound automatically lowering when I would watch a video on Youtube or play a game. In the end I discovered this could be fixed easily in the control panel. However, prior to this I have already contacted Dell Tech Support and they had remote access to my computer.

Regardless, of me telling the agent that I had discovered the fix he kept on with what he was doing and ultimately screwed up the machine to the point I had to completely wipe it and reload it.

When it finally came back up I fixed the sound lowering problem, but another one was created with the sound. The speakers are not sounding like they should. The best way I can describe it is to take all of the bass out of somebodies voice and have them stand about 15 feet away from the mic in a tunnel.

Again tech support is on the case, but I am not too confident they will fix it.

Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this issue and how to fix it?

I wouldn't work with Dell on this and instead contact Best Buy for their warranty support.

I wouldn't deal with any warranty support. It's a day old and not working, exchange it. Let Best Buy return it to Dell and they can wipe it, test it, and resell it.
