Today I bought a new headset ( Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 100 ) The audio is very good from the headset, but the microphone picks up everything I'm listening to whether it is a game or YouTube video, and plays it to my friends over Skype if we are talking. It is often louder than I am and therefore makes the volume of me speaking very quiet.
I was just hoping someone could have a fix for thisas i have been searching for well over 3 hours now.

Hi and Welcome to TSF!

How loud is the audio from your headset? How close is the microphone to your head?

I'd say maybe an inch or two but I don't think that the sensitivity to the mic is the problem, because I unplugged the mic from the headset and looking at the recording settings the mic was still playing the audio from the headset

Test the headset in the rear ports. If correct, confirm the front panel ports are wired correctly to the motherboard header.

This doesn't make much sense.

You removed the headphones, but the problem persisted? Do you have another microphone on the PC?

So you believe its a microphone failure.

The device is new, so contact Turtle Beach and ask to claim warranty.
