Mistake

I run Windows Vista Business, and am trying to do sound. The Volume mixer shows all open programs, but does not show any sound, even when I am playing a Youtube video or using Windows Media Player. As a consequence. no sound plays from the speaker.

You probably have the wrong playback device selected. Right click on the volume control on the task bar and select playback devices. Select the device your using.
