My System

Hello all,

I hooked up a new monitor the other day with integrated speakers, it is the BenQ RL2455hm 24" Class LED Gaming Monitor - 1920 x 1080. Now it shows that my speakers are not connected even though they are and only get sound out of my headphones. I did the usual disconnect/reconnect/reboot and nothing. Please help me.

Thank you in advance,
Danny

Have you verified the cabling? How is the monitor connected?

The monitor on it's own shouldn't matter. Most monitors with speakers require a cable run from the soundcard output (green port) into the monitor audio input (green port).

It is only hooked by the DVI cable to the back of my tower. The speakers are working on the monitor but so low. I do not want to use them anyway. What should I do?

Verify the audio configuration.

If you hare getting audio over HDMI, then the HDMI audio chipset is currently set as the default output device. You need to select the chipset to which the speakers are connected.

Hi, I'm having a strange problem with the sound on my PC and I'd greatly appreciate any of your advice. I realize the text might be a little too long for someone (I tried to be as thorough as possible) so I've written a short version of the problem as well. Short version: Ever since...
