Thumbs Down

My microphone on my laptop/sound card or something has stopped working. I went on to discord/Skype and i could hear everyone in the voice chats fine just like before this happened but no one could hear me. I tried uninstalling the microphone driver still didn't work i looked in the settings of the microphone nothing looked wrong.

I then thought maybe it my plug in headset so i went on to my phone on skype and discord and both groups could here me fine.

so what is the problem?
My driver for the microphone is conexant smart audio HD.

Even now why i click on playback devices and speak into a microphone test nothing happens.

Hi and Welcome to TSF!

Does the microphone work on a second PC? If not, then it may be a bad microphone.

Do you have the (correct) mic selected in the audio configuration?

If you have the correct mic selected, and you aren't seeing any input when performing the test, I'd suspect an issue with audio chipset or maybe the drivers.

You can manually update or reinstall the audio drivers. They should be available on the laptop manufacturers website.

Aside from that, I'd suspect a hardware fault. You can confirm by testing another mic on the laptop.
