Mistake

As stated in title. I was sure to google my problem before I went online asking about it, and I tried some of the solutions they had. My microphone settings have been changed and unchanged, I looked for a driver update to no avail, uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them, no change, and the quiet from the microphone goes for every microphone, not just one. I'm going to need some help.
Thanks!

My System

It's very likely the driver. This issue has been around since Windows 7 and only affects a small number of users.

Have you tried switching back to the old driver? If the problem started after the "driver update", then I would assume the old driver was working fine.

Saying no audio device, drivers are working properly?
I have Winxp, all service packs, and Sound Blaster Audigy. I have tried what I am assuming is every solution I have found in short of reinstalling XP. Making sure the right devices are started in services, un-installing/re-installing/updating drivers, and so on. One thing it probably could be is...

HDD to record on.
Hi I was looking around for a low size HDD that'll be fast for recording with Fraps. On a game such as MW2 I get stable 70-90 FPS But as soon as i hit that Fraps hotkey, its an instant drop to 30-45fps and it feels terribly laggy. I was thinking of buying a new HDD to record onto, but before...
