Is the Xbox fully updated?

Are you wired or wireless?

See if the issue happens while wired.

Sounds like the wireless where the Xbox is, is spotty and that is why it's dropping him.

You could think about buying a wireless range extender, they make a few good ones for a reasonable price.

Or to save the money and if its not too inconvenient, move the console to the wired position.

I bought one of these range extenders recently for a room that wasn't picking up the wifi signal too well: Belkin N300 - Amazon.co.uk (20, free delivery). Very easy to setup and works perfectly.
