There is a online action game. It is a real time synchronous play. PvP battles are at real time. This particular game is available to play both in facebook or at the game's own site. Now real time synchronous games use ip and port of both players. I guess in facebook the transfer of personal datas are secured via facebook... and in their website , it's direct.... But i'm only guessing. I don't know for sure.
So which way is the better and safer choice to play? Via facebook or via their site?

In terms of speed, I would expect playing through the game's website to be faster, as I've noticed games often run slow in Facebook. If you are using FB through a secure connection (https vs http), then you are correct that FB may be more secure. However, if ports need to be open there is still some security risk.

I'm not playing yet. But yes my facebook is always https. But also I don't know the game' site themselves use https or not. It's a pretty big company... Kixeye.

My concern is security before speed. But also the game in their site has better experience which is a tempting option too

Hmm seeing that... Battle Pirate's homepage too is loading in https to me.
So it seems secure about personal datas to play on their site, in your opinion?

War commander has the HTTPS so should be more secure.

I never played an online game WITHIN the game's site before. What are the risks and what I should be aware of?
I'm on Linux and Google Chrome. Should I take any more precautions?

I don't see that it is anymore of a risk than playing on any site so take your personal usual precautions. As this explains it is harder to infect a linux machine https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Antivirus

Hi there and thanks in advanced to all that are going to help out on this process. I recently came back from a trip and had noticed my laptop not running correctly. Just about every 2 websites I'd attempt to link, I'd get redirected to a site with tons of phony links that wasn't the website I...
