When I connect my Xbox 360 using ethernet to my router directly, it keeps getting disconnected from Xbox Live every 5-8 minutes. However, if I connect it using ethernet to my laptop (which is connected to the internet via WiFi) it doesn't get disconnected and works fine.

Another weird thing is that if I play COD MW2 the disconnections do not happen even if I'm connected directly to the router using Ethernet. They happen a lot with Fifa and I'm unable to finish even a single match (unless I adopt the laptop route).

I have tried connecting my Xbox directly to the main router as well as to a repeater router and I get disconnections on both. The router is DLink DIR-600M and I have the old Xbox 360 which doesn't come with built in WiFi.

EDIT: The xbox used to work fine connected directly to the router a couple of months back. The problem has sprung up only now.
