I am planning my next machine, which will be built early next year. It will be a high end machine, although I do not play games.

I will be using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, and I will also set up the XP virtual machine to get the XP mode functionality.

I've been reading up on that, and from what I read, I can set up Windows 7 desktop icons to run several programs that I will have to install in the XP Mode OS.

Since I can also install hardware in the XP Mode window, I do have a color laser printer that will require that, and the actual install itself seems very straightforward.

But, the one area that is not clear to me is the use of that printer, while I'm in Windows 7, and running software that has been installed in Windows 7, will a printer that I have installed in XP mode be available to me from Windows 7? Will Windows 7 show in the list of printers that I have installed, both the Win 7,and Win XP printer installs?

If my XP printers do not show in Win 7, what is the procedure to use them from an installed Windows 7 program. From what I read, Both Win 7 and XP share the same file system. So I hope they also share the same printer system.

Make sure that printer has an x64 driver to go along with it if you are installing it on an x64 system.
