From the start of connecting my LG G3 to my Windows 7 pro 64bit computer I could not get windows to recognize the phone. In the device manager I saw a driver named VS985 4G. Querying this driver returned "Windows cannot initialize the driver for this hardware (code 37)".
I deleted the driver and connected the phone again. The system automatically reinstalled the same driver and everything worked again, until the next time I tried to reconnect the phone to upload.
It worked that way for some months, then recently when I tried to delete & reinstall the driver it installed a driver named MTP USB device, returned the dialog "Driver Not Successfully Installed" and the device manager reported "Device cannot start (code 10)".
So I next went to the LG site and manually downloaded the driver I entered as VS985 4G. Installed it and again the device manager identifies it a LGE Android MTP device, with the same code 10 error.
I cannot get past this. I tried a system restore but because of limited restore space I couldn't go back more than 2 weeks, and that didn't help. Solution?
