Windows - delayed write failed

OS: Windows XP/Windows 7



Hey so I was on my laptop and all of a sudden all these messages came up

Failed to save all the components for the file \\ system32\\00007289. The file is corrupted or unreadable. This error may be caused by a pc hardware problem.

Can anyone help me and tell me what this is and how to fix it thanks. I'm running windows 7 on a dell Inspiron

First thing I would do is back up any data you cherish . . then run diagnostics on the hard drive by downloading the diagnostic tool for the hard drive brand and making a bootable disc.
