Why does my computer auto restart

This is a discussion on Why does my computer auto restart within the Windows 7 , Windows Vista Support forums, part of the Tech Support Forum category. No matter what I do 1 I press f8 and make sure that the auto restart is off it restarts

OS: Vista 32-bit



No matter what I do
1 I press f8 and make sure that the auto restart is off it restarts when I run dream scene.
2 I goto last known good configurations auto restarts
3 I do not mess with the File Setup systemwhen hitting F2 to enter the setup utility, nothing FING works to cure my problem. :(

The Disable automatic restart on system failure option on the Advanced Options Menu only applies during that boot. Once you log in, the regular setting is re-instated.

To disable the automatic restart:
Click Start, type SystemPropertiesAdvanced, press Enter
Click the Settings... button under Startup and Recovery
Uncheck Automatically restart in the System failure section
OK back to the Desktop.
