I just purchased a new laptop with vista. When I have several windows open and want to close one of them windows fades white and I receive a message saying that windows needs to restart? Why is this and how can I stop it? With XP if you have many windows open you can close only the windows you want one at a time. Vista seem to always restart.
Thanks

Hi. . .

Does the error message say that Windows must restart as in re-booting or that Windows Explorer or IE is closing and must restart (just the application)?

Regards. . .

If it is just the browser look at A/V and any 3rd party firewall that you have on your system. I have usually fouond these to be involved most of the time.
