Hi there,

I've been having a problem with a machine on my workplaces network. The users local profile corrupted, so i did what any Technician would do and backed up her local profile then deleted it from "C:Users\(Users Logon)". I then restarted the machine and logged back in as her. However, rather than just creating a new local profile the machine logged her in with a temporary profile. I have since done the same process but with my account and the same problem occurs. I have also tenaciously researched this problem on the internet, but could only find suggestions on what to delete in regedit. I have tried all of the suggestions but to no prevail.

Any light anyone can shine on this issue would be much appreciated.
Thank You.

A vague attempt at helping but not being too certain myself...

Can't you just create a new profile from the temp profile? Login to the new profile, transfer files you need?

Hi Stephen,

Have just tried this and unfortunately it still logs me in with a temp profile. Thanks for the suggestion though. Any others are more than welcome :)

Thank You

Have just solved the problem :) Thank you Stephen for putting me on the right track :D. In the end i just had to point her profile path to the locally cached profile and it seemed to work fine. Had to move the file over into it though. Thanks for the help :)
