How can I now proceed? I have checked Microsoft Updates and it says that there are no updates needed.I obviously need to run it again but it is not there.

I get the same error code when trying to install Vista SP2. I've downloded and installed it numerous times and it keeps giving me this error code and saying I need to restart. I do this and the whole process begins again.

Make sure it's the only update you're installing. It won't install with other updates or when another update has been downloaded but the computer hasn't been re-booted. I prefer to be notified rather than use auto-update.

Seems to have sorted itself out. I think it took 6 goes.
