OS: Vista

I turned my laptop on this morning and got an error that said:

E-E61: media test failure,
PXE-M0P: Exiting PXE Rom
Operating system not found

So I went into my Bios and disabled the "boot from network" setting

Now it just shows: Operating system not found.

Please help me!! All my school work is on this laptop and I can't get to it.

My operating system (when working) is Vista. I didn't get a disk with the laptop when I bought it and like a dummy I didn't make a boot disk.

Someone please help me!!!

Boot into the BIOS and make sure that the hard drive is detected.

If not detected I would suggest removing the battery and power cord and re-seat the drive making sure seated properly.

Possible cause is a failed hard drive.

And Check to see if the hard drive is set to the right boot order in BIOS.

It sounds like your HDD failed. As stated, does it show up in the Bios?

Thank you to all who replied. I checked everything that was suggested and it doesn't show up in the bios. I am going to replace the hard drive. Thank you again.
