Hi

My computer would seem like it is starting up (fans turning and lights blinking) but my computer screen doesn't receive any signal. When the screen display comes back, a Windows Error Recovery menu would show up. Any form of help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Where do you plug your monitor into on the computer? Are you using the onboard VGA port, or do you have a separate Video card? (see attached) The error points to a Video Hardware error, probably the Video card failing and needing to be replaced.

I am using a DVI cable plugged into the video card section. I would like to add that my computer screen would sometimes turn on and off on its own. When this happens, the buttons at the side won't work except for the on/off button. Thank you for your reply, spunk.funk.

It sounds like your Video Card is failing. You can test this theory by trying a different monitor. If you get the same behavior, then it would be the video card.
If you have Onboard VGA port. Remove the Video card and plug your monitor into that.

Hi spunk.funk. I just managed to get a different monitor and I will see if the same problem occurs again. If the same problem occurs again do I replace my graphics card or use a VGA cable? Thanks.

Start with a DVI cable, then try the VGA port and cable. If all still fails with a new monitor then, if you have an onboard VGA port, remove the video card and try that.

I haven't been receiving any errors with the new monitor but I can't be 100% sure yet. I will heed your advice if the problem comes back. Thank you so much spunk.funk, I really appreciate your help.

If a new monitor works, then you have found the culprit. If this solved your problem, please mark this thread Solved in the Thread Tools at the top.
