I just bought my laptop a few weeks ago and now the screen will randomly go black. I run McAfee and Spy Sweeper often enough. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium(6.0,6001 build) with SP1, it is a gateway laptop. The system model is M-1624 (not sure if it helps). The processor is a AMD Turion 64 X2 with 2 GB memory. Just reply if you can help or you need more information.

Certain graphics cards and drivers will refresh themselves to keep the screen from sticking. I have an Intel graphics card and it will turn the screen black to refresh. There's also the probability that it's removing the video ram in the time that the screen is black.
