Today I've noticed a significant reduction in my computers performance. I installed a fresh copy of spy sweeper and it came up with 2 pieces of malware

Mal/Generic A
Mal/Keygen C

unfortunately it keeps jamming up so it wont erase them. Any help scanning the system would be much appreciated.

Windows 7 Home Edition, standard HP desktop.

Btw I did install a video card upgrade today, dont know if that could have potentially effected things, but it has been runnning worse since.. went from 256mb integrated to 1gig ATI Sapphire HD4670..

Thanks,

Spy sweeper has at last work and cleared the Malware it has found, but the fact that there is any on here worry's me. None should exist.

I would really appreciate help doing thorough malware and virus scans to help optimize performance.

Thanks,
Pete

Ok heres what I use and Ive never had a virus(well Ive had one but it was found and deleted straight away)
Firstly, for your anti virus download avast 5 home edition . Its free and the newest version of it has just come out. Its been compared to norton and mcafee and it uses less ram and is much better.
avast has inbuilt anti-spyware so you wont need to download a seperate anti spyware program.
Once avast is up and running go and download smart defrag. this program defragments your hard drive for much better performance. (run smart defrag overnight because it can take a few hours)
Next download ccleaner( I run ccleaner everyday0 it only takes a few minutes and is great.
The last thing you will want is a registry cleaner, if your willing to spend some money get regace, but if your not willing there is a great registry cleaner called comodo registry cleaner.
after you have all of these run a full system scan with avast, defragment your hard drive with smart defrag, run ccleaner, and run comodo registry cleaner.
this should optimize your computer greatly and help with your virus problem.

reply back later and tell me if that helped :D

I suggest that you proceed to to our Security Center, Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help Forum, to have your system reviewed by a Security Analyst. Please be sure to follow THESE STEPS carefully before posting your logs in the Security Forum.

Please be patient as the Security Analysts are very busy and one will get to you as soon as possible.

Regards. . .
