Hello Everyone,

If you have W7 Ultimate and an HP deskjet 2050 printer - this question is most definitely for you!

I have both Microsoft Office 2010 and Open Office 3.41.9593.

I can write a whole page of text in both Word and Writer, then print with no problem, the problem arises when I add page borders.

I have tried literally EVERY combination of margins to enable the text to be printed with a page border but each and every time I am informed that the text is outside the printing area. (When printed, anyway, a part of one side, or the bottom or top of the page border is missing and flat on the external edge, nothing works to remedy this)

I am beginning to think that this printer is incompatible with W7 ultimate.

Does anyone have any idea how to overcome this?

Any input would help.

(I have asked HP - but they only deal with questions from people who have just bought the item and want to charge me to answer my question - good customer relations here!)

Regards,

Hi -

Make sure drivers are updated. I see OS options for Windows 7 & Windows 8, so it should work for you.

Also, do a Print Preview before printing to make sure your borders are correct.

Hello jcgriff2 and spunk.funk,

Thank you both for your posts.

I downloaded and installed the drivers.

I also did a print review.

The information was that the "page borders of section 1 are (STILL) outside the printable area of the page!"

As I stated in my original question - I have previously tried EVERY combination of margins and nothing works. This post was my last option before discontinuing use of the HP "troublemaker" and purchasing a printer of a different make which will hopefully print my desired print job.(You have no idea how frustrating this is!)

Thank you both for your trouble to reply.

Regards
