Question

Hi there.

I have a Vista Home Premium OEM disc that I used on my desktop pc.

I need to repair a laptop that also has an OEM product number. Can I use the OEM disc that I've used on my desktop, as long as I make sure I use the key on the laptop?

Both of the OEM licenses are for home premium, but the disc I have is 64 bit, whereas the laptop I'm pretty sure is 32 bit. THis won't be a problem will it?

Thanks,

Craig

There is no place during the installation for you to enter a product key code on OEM versions. I wouldn't use an x64 bootable disk in an x86 (32-bit) system.

The best course here is to contact the OEM and purchase a set of replacement Vista DVDs. Last check from HP = about $30. I don't know the cost of others.
