Hi, well to begin with there is no root classes hive ( it is not loaded there) a change in the registry after 2000 made a difference :-

You need to navigate to [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-XX-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\Software\Classes]

Where the SID is here represented by xxxx's you will only have one or two sid's so easy to find your current user.

Once here delete away. Restart

A quick question,

Are you having trouble using your drive after deleting Nero?
I had a similar issue after deleting Nero and found that this works great.

Open device manager and uninstall the drive.
Reboot.
Windows will reinstall the drive with default settings and work correctly.

jenae -- I guess the keys I show are not where I said...even tho I copied them from the registry as you can see...it would seem that everyone is wrong about where I should be deleting the keys from..will do that right now... thanks

dai ..thanks for you input

Shows as it did before.. I did it days ago..but I did it again..just to be sure.. no Nero program to delete

https://www.filedropper.com/nerocleantollresults

I forgot to mention relating to permissions.. I logged in under the windows admin facility hoping to overcome the permissions problem and went to delete etc with the same results also under safe mode and then with nothing loaded through msconfig...still same result..

Thanks to all who advised and helped .
I finally got rid of the keys and it was, as everyone suspected a permissions issue. When I finally got the hang of it I deleted the 90 keys by hand. My problem was I guess being a little apprehensive and lack of trust in some advice ...so I set about doing the job correctly making sure I added a different user/owner/permission with full control rights..it worked. I used the advanced button to find a user etc and picked the user group one..all was well...what a relief..now I am scared to try and reinstall...smile
