laptop switch on and them off

Hi every one new in the fórum.

My compaq presario v6000. I switch on the laptop after 3 seconds the laptop turn it self off, and it get in a loop on and off. and keep doing this

the only way to stop is to remove the battery.

here are the interested part. after I remove the battery I wait for about 10 minutes and the laptop start ok. in fact iam using my laptop to write this thread.

but if I turn off the laptop and try to start again. the on and off loop start again.. I have to remove the battery before turn the laptop on is the only way.


what can be causing this problem

Hi how old is the battery and does it hold a full charge or just a partial charge as that might affect how it behaves

is not that old. but I always used conected to the Wall. so in order to start again i have to umplog the laptop from the Wall and also remove the battery

your not really answering the questions if you don't need the battery in keep it out as it may be trickle charging and getting hot

ok the battery is 8 months old. and yes the battery take full charge ok.

So is the laptop the same age if so use the warranty to get it checked

no the laptop is old. dont know how old. I buy used about 1 year and half ago

Ok try cleaning the contacts for the battery in the battery bay use a eraser and check when using the battery if it feels hot around that area

with all do respect. i dont think the battery is the problema. I will do that any way.

Hi you may be right but we need to start trouble shooting somewhere so we rule that out then consider what other possibilities may be affecting things
