Not sure if I follow this. At Task Scheduler Library cannot find Defrag to get to Triggers.

How about clicking on "Remove Settings" as shown in the image?

I was using Norton antivirus since last one year. But have now uninstalled it and using AVG (free edition). Maybe it's because of something left behind by Norton, so 'remove settings' might help?

Norton has already been completely uninstalled almost a week ago.

You probably never have to defrag a Windows 7 drive because it's looked at on a schedule. The instructions I gave should work. If not, the program might be corrupted or you could even have malware present. "Remove Settings" probably won't do anything unless it's looking for another program you defaulted to in the past. You could download a trial of one of the paid defrag programs and see what you think.

I clicked on "remove settings" a little while ago and it worked. Was able to run the disk defrag successfully. From what I know, Norton has its own disk optimizer. Though Norton has been uninstalled, I guess the default defragmenter of Win.7 needed a confirmation for that and so the "remove settings" button apparently helped. The problem seems to be resolved or so I hope. Many thanks for your time and help. Will let you know if I any more obstacles prop up.
