For some reason my computer sometimes just shuts off.
The only warning I get when this is happening is that windows pops up a notification that says "turn on windows security center" or something along those lines. Once I saw a message following it saying "comodo needs to be updated" right before the computer shut down.
When it shuts down it just hard stops - everything turns off and goes to black without properly shutting down windows or anyting like that

It happened twice last night and only 1 or two other times before this.
I'm wondering if I just have some weird settings with windows security center

I'm using windows 7 64 bit

Windows XP Pro. No 'shut down', just a back screen, then a full shutdown. Wouldn't come back up till I actually unplugged the cord then plugged it back in. Came back on and did a harddrive check, then back to normal???
I think my issue has to do with some conflict between COMODO and windows 7 security center - even though I don't have security center on.
Every time the shut down happens I get a pop up saying "security center is turned off" and then another saying "update comodo" and just as the update message pops up the computer locks up and shuts down.

the random crashes caused one of my external hardrives to completely die... lost my partitions and data for a while.
I salavaged the stuff on the harddrive and the problem hasn't happened since....

Hi,

If you could please export your system logs so we can have a look at them to see if there are any faults related to this issue.

Press Start > Type "eventvwr.msc" > Hit Enter.
Mark "Windows Logs" > Press Actions > Save all events as.

Attach them to your next post.

I will do this the next time it happens. It hasn't happened in a while and I don't remember the date of the last time.
Crossing my fingers it doesn't happen again! ha
