I have an old problem with my computer that is starting to wear me off.

Sometimes, when i use some program that uses sound (winamp, games, and online poker platforms (these are the most frequent) ... never had problems with movies or browsing the web) , the sound will go off first and then the computer gradually loses his strenght, slowing down, until he freezes completly and needs a forced reboot.

I have 2 sound cards : onboard one and a creative x-fi. Using anyone of the 2 will give no improvement.

My system :
DFI lanparty DK FX series
AMD Athlon dual core 6000 (3000 mhz)
4 gb corsair ddr 800 mhz
Radeon 3870
2 HDD
Vista business

I even tried to install windows 7 and still same old problem. Updated bios, same problem.

Need help

MB : DFI Lanparty DK FX
Video : ATI Radeon HD 3870
CPU : AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core 6000+ (3 Ghz)
Sound card : Creative X-fi Fatal1ty
1 PCI lan card
2 HDD (160 Gb and 400 Gb)
RAM : 2 x 2 Gb Corsair DDR II 800 Mhz
Power supply : Corsair VX 450W
I got 2 120mm case fans and 1 120mm fan for the processor.

I attached a picture from BIOS. The fan speeds are all 0 because they are run through a Fan / Temperature Display module.

your power should be up here

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...corsair%2b550w

you need to redo the paste on the cpu with some arcticsilver and blow any dust from the case with a can of air

https://www.arcticsilver.com/methods.html
