Thanks for the reply.

I will report my post so hopefully a moderator can move it, I didn't notice that forum at first and thought this was the best forum.

Thanks again :)

0x7a = requested page of kernel data from the page file could not be read into RAM
0xce = device not found (I/O status exception error)
6_0_6001 = Vista SP1 -- you don't have Vista SP2 installed.

The 0xce exception error is pointing us to a likely issue with the HDD.

Run SeaTools for DOS, LONG test - Hard Drive (HDD) Diagnostics - Sysnative Forums

Try and install all outstanding Window Updates, including VistaSP2. You only have 34 Windows Updates installed -- there should be several hundred.

Is this a new REINSTALL on a machine that came with a Vista disk, or did you get some kind of disk and you are hoping it works on this computer?

I hate to say it like this, but Vista is really a poor O/S and if there is any way to avoid it, you would be doing yourself a favor, IMO.

Also, if you are trying to install Vista on a machine that doesn't have Vista drives, that might be the problem. And another possibility is that if you are reinstalling, the problem with the 1st installation might be causing the problems with the 2nd. Have you disconnected all non-essential hardware from the computer, such as USB drives and printers, etc.. as they will interfere with and slow down the installation process.
