Hi there,

I read the sticky about how 2 GB of RAM is enough & I remember hearing this years ago, but now people are telling me it's NOT enough.

While I'm NOT a gammer, I am a netrepreneur, & I have numerous programs open at once, plus I'm very fast at multi tasking & I hate it when I'm faster than the computer. I recently had problems where the "My computer" window was hanging when I opened it, same with Fx.

After a month of troubleshooting with someone online who was very nice in helping me, my computer seems better now, but I still think I should upgrade.

What do you think?

I don't know what kind of memory I have in there. It might be Kingston, I can't remember, Is there a free program I can use to find out? I really don't want to have to sell it online & buy 2 new 2 GB sticks. Do I really have to go that route?

Thanks

Michelle

First we need some info about your PC before offering any knowledgeable info.
PreBuilt--Brand name & Model Number
Custom Build--Brand & Model of Mobo-CPU-RAM-Graphics-PSU.

If you're using XP, 2GB is sufficient. If you're using Vista or 7, you will benefit from more RAM.
Unfortunately, using a matched pair of 2X2GB sticks is the preferred and most trouble free solution for 4 GB of RAM. Filling all the RAM slots on the Mobo can cause Voltage issues.

Hi there,

I'm on XP & it's a clone.

Do you have the software for me to determine the stats?

Thanks
