PC boots up , fans run , no beep because i didnt plug in the speaker

its this mother motherboard

https://www.gigabyte.us/Products/Moth...ProductID=3150

and its got a quad core phenom II

we think that the PSU isnt giving the motherboard enough power....
the PSU we got is only a 500watt antec 12v 2.2 , but on the motherboard it says 12v 2.4~!! i think the quad core phenom is power hungry

so i think we need to get a PSU that is 12v 2.4 , correct~??

could this be the problem~???

what video card is in it or are you using the onboard

for the onboard

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...corsair%2b550w

if it is a card or you plan on a card at a later date we need to know what as that will determiine how much wattage you will require

the PSU on the first post was a 500watt antec

i recently replaced it with a 650 watt antec atx 12v 2.2 ... and it still doesnt work

ive also tested the PSU on 2 MB's .. it does the same thing to both ...

ive replaced the old CMOS battery with a new one and the CPU fan started running unbelieveably fast~!!! so i feel like im makin some progress

but still , no beep or display on the monitor , have reseated the CPU , RAM & power connectors millions of times

no graphics card

exchanged the Motherboard with a brand new one , same model
exchanged the CPU with a brand new one, same model
exchanged the RAM with brand new ones , same models

All worked out well ... i think it was defective RAM ... but we exchanged the Motherboard & CPU just in case

problem solved .... BAD DDR3 RAM
