RAM problem

have installed 2 sticks of ddr2 on motherboard , after few minutes pc restarts and beeping sound is there, removed and checked the RAM one by one everything was fine, checked with both the slots, no problem , but when install 2 sticks of ddr2 i gb each , then PC restarts and gives beeping sound, it worked for few minutes and was showing 1.5 gb instead of 2 gb in system properties,dxdiag,task manager,and in bios.
any help..?

What brand and model PC do you have?
What brand and part number Ram did you ?

PC SPECIFICATIONS--intel core 2 duo 1.8 ghz,1X1 gb RAM ddr2 kingston,intel 945g motherboard,250gb seagate HDD,SAMSUNG DVD RW,1GB ati radeon graphics card 1650x

Is this a custom build?
If so what brand and model motherboard?
Kingston makes more then 1 part number DDR2 ram.
