Question

Hi, so I was wondering if someone could tell me if this Ram (DDR4 PC4-25600 CL=22 Single Ranked x16 based Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR4-3200 1.2V 512Meg x 64 ) would be compatible with my Dell Inspiron 14 5000 2-in-1, 5481 laptop? I'm adding it to it not replacing the one that's already there. Any help would be great, thanks.

Maximum 16GB per slot, maximum 32GB total. Find compatible upgrades here https://www.crucial.com/compatible-u...-14-%285482%29

That page shows memory for Inspiron 14 model 5482. Since you did not specify the exact model of your 2-in-1, I assumed it to be the 5482. If yours is a different model, search for it in the crucial site.

Ram has a brand and a part number like Crucial CT16G4SFD8266 which would be 16GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM what you posted
DDR4 PC4-25600 CL=22 Single Ranked x16 based Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR4-3200 1.2V 512Meg x 64
is a generic description that does not tell you if it is SDRAM that fits a desktop PC or SODIMM that fits your laptop.
Use the Crucial site or a site like Crucial that allows you to look up your model# to get ram that is guaranteed compatible with your computer.

My System

I would add once you find your proper laptop memory that 3200 MHZ is a complete waste because the laptop memory speed is going to run at the speed lowest stick you have - which is your already installed DDR4 2666. Dell computers either Dedktop or Laptop are not "XMP" adjustable, and thus will not run memory at overclocked frequencies and that DDR4 3200 will not run at 3200 MHZ. DDR4 3200 is overclocked 'rated' memory and usually has higher voltage than 1.2v. If I were you I would take the above advice and just go to the Crucial site and get some nice 1.2v DDR4 2666 that is compatible with your laptop and will not give you any fuss.

I thought any RAM would work as long as it fits
Wow everyone's RAM is higher these days, damn I'm still on my previous upgrade of 8gb from the original 4gb

Thought I'll see what I can learn here
