I recently bought a Coolmax power supply, with 550w and 18a on the 12v rail. I installed it to replace a similar power supply only it had 450w. When I installed the new Coolmax, I booted it up and it told me that I have a disk read error. It appears my IDE master hard drive isn't seen in the BIOS but my two optical drives, my floppy drive, and my SATA drive all are. All the plugs are secure and in the right places. Is there something else I may be able to try or check? Thanks for the help!

If you need any other info I will happily oblige.

Disconnect the roms and check the read out in your bios.
The coolmax might be a bummer, which isn't a rarity.

I unplugged my DVD and CD-RW drives, and nothing new or different happened.

See if you can start in safe mode to get any info off that drive a.s.a.p.
The coolmax might have damaged it, or it is a coincidence.

Hi,

Have you tried another power connector for the hard drive? What are all your system specs? https://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/other-
