Alright well i bought a PSU about a week ago and its really loud, i can actually hear it over my music and games (and i wear headphones) here is the make...

https://www.xcase.co.uk/p/479053/x-po...rossfire-.html

On the box it says ultra quiet technology but i can tell you now that is not the case. I have checked my PC temperatures and there all fine.

So really im just wandering...

- Does this mean there is something wrong with the PSU? apart from the sound its making all is well.

- Does anyone know if this is a problem that seems to be happening with that specific make?

- Is there any way of making it quieter?

Im open to any and all suggestions, thanks alot in advance!

P.S - Im using my brothers account to post this thread and im not all that good with computers so if there are any details i may have missed out that would be helpful in figuring out the problem just let me know.

Its a cheap PSU. Spend abit more on a decent brand and the fan will be totally silent.

My last PSU cost me 5 and it was quieter, i don't really have a lot of money to spend on the parts, so going out and buying another this close to Christmas as well isn't one of my options.

Yes, buying a new one will be the only fix

You cannot open PSUs because the still hold a dangerous amount of energy when unplugged.
