hi
I have a Compaq nx 6325 and it suddenly stopped receiving charge from the ac adapter one day.
I have checked the charger, dc jack and the laptop battery with a multimeter and all are working fine. The computer works fine and boots into windows but now the battery is too low (as indicated by the orange lights) and so can not power on any more.
What could be the problem?

Can you remove the battery and run the PC with just the adapter?

The PC should still run with a low battery if power adapter is present and working.

You may have a problem with the DC Jack.

Yea, I tried running only from the AC adapter but it's not working, only from the battery.
The light doesn't come on to indicate its charging either, and in windows it doesn't show the battery being charged
I also tested the DC Jack with the multimeter and it shows that the voltage is going through and it is also securely in place
