Hi, I recently decided to buy some ram to make my computer work better. I bought some and came back only to find out my computer wouldn't boot up. I talked with an acquaintance who knew about computers and we decided it had problems. I went back and found out they didn't have anymore. They gave me another product but it was different. As a person with no computer knowledge, I just took it and put it in my motherboard. Luckily, it would boot up, but every time I let it cool down for a few hours, some weird static appears on the left side of the monitor when it boots up (yes, it freezes when it happens). I keep shutting it down by holding the button and eventually it works. I'm still concerned though.

I don't know anything about computers, but anyway, I think either the ram is broken, or the ram doesn't work with my computer ... Any ideas?

The one I was originally bought but returned:
4GB(2GB x 2) 667MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL5 DIMM

The one I got in return:
4GB(2GB x 2) 800MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL5 DIMM

The 1gb I have originally:
512MB 1Rx8 PC2-4200U-444 (2 sticks)

Some Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00GHz
32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium

Any help would be appreciated...
