Question

Hello,

I am new to large format digital color print production and was looking to get ideas and suggestions about color basics, specifications and working with designers. Some programs used are Adobe CS5 Illustrator, photoshop, indesign etc. One question from the start is...This client sends some files over and requests that a height of 20" is critical, and of course there is the deadline, a rush job. Now the files are on the network directory and are jpegs, however the open up in acrobat as pdfs...long and short, they are not happy with the color being bluer than they were expecting, and mode (cmyk), curve setting adjustments reduce that color issue but the black rectangle strip at the bottom of the print is turning color also. What do I need to tell the client? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
