Hi, I'm challenging my development team on an issue they say is not possible, but I think it is, despite my limited knowledge of web development. We are using Tomcat on a Linux box to host our web application. The link to our app is something like

We have a third party who is hosting the domain www.thirdpartydomain.com but pointing to the IP Since the app isn't sitting in Root, users receive a Tomcat page when they access the third party domain. The third party is saying that DNS will not allow them to point to our address successfully since it has the /files/app directories attached to it.

Is there a way for our Tomcat webserver to redirect a user from root when they access the site via the domain www.thirdpartydomain.com, to so it launches our app?

Welcome to TSF

I don't know that much about Tomcat but I will give you my thoughts on this. There are a couple of things that you need to find out. First is why your thirdpartydomain.com isn't pointing to the www directory on the server. Second, you need to figure out if there is a way to have your app open on a different port something similar to 8080 or the like. This way you won't be getting the Tomcat app when you enter thirdpartydomian.com.
