i got a message today that said "windows has detected a hard disk problem and that i should immediately back my files and replace my hard drive"
my compute is an hp pavilion dv6. its just over one year old. i did a hddscan on my laptop and i came up with the following result:

(red)
005 Reallocation Sector Count 010 010 0000000000-0740 010
(yellow)
196 Reallocation Event Count 100 100 0000000000-010B 000

the rest are green

what do you recommend?

First and foremost, you should always have a backup copy of any hardware that you don't want to lose.

Second, test the drive using the HDD manufacturers disk tools available from the manufacturers website. Run the short and long test.
