p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120%; } Hello all,

I left my computer on while I was out of the house Ė and wouldn't you know it: my internal HDD can not be recognized in the BIOS. Even when I go into the BIOS utility it will usually have at least one option of booting from an EFI file but now it only shows an OS to boot into if its on a live USB (my CD tray is also broken) I ran a Ďquick checkĒ of my hard drive and it said there is no HDD installed and to ensure the cabling is done properly (or something to that effecty)

Attempts Made to Fix Problem:
  • Re-install Ubuntu (when I do it tries to use the USB as the main drive
  • System Diagnosis (shows no info about a HDD)
  • The infamous Boot/Reboot

I know that isnít much but I donít know a thing about power supplies or the trouble Iím experiencing. During my searches on Google I did find this happened to several others with earlier versions of Ubuntu but their troubleshooting methods didnít work either

Iíll be the first to admit the laptop is beat-up pretty well but thatís just the cosmetics. Itís still an i7 7th Gen CPU clocked at 2.4 GHz and 12 GB of RAM. So with that being said, I really need to save this laptop!

I know you guys will start with questions so please ask away and Iíll be happy to answer them to the best of my ability. Iím just so confused how one minute Iím on the Internet doing school work for an on-line course, leaving for just a few hours to come home and my HDD isnít even recognizable to BIOS.
